Matthew Fraser-Betts, architect by day at HSSP and glutton for punishment in the evenings and weekends (!), is undertaking three challenges to fund raise for The British Heart Foundation, as they were instrumental in saving one of their family friends following an unexpected heart attack.

First up and in preparation for the next challenge, was the Newark half marathon on Sunday 13 August 2023. This saw Matt complete his first ever half marathon alongside other runners; he did enjoy the camaraderie as a contrast to his solo ventures.

Matt will then be joined by his lovely wife, Esther, to pound the pavements and take on 13.1 miles for the AJ Bell Great North Run (GNR) on Sunday 10 September 2023 with 60,000 other runners to make it the worlds biggest and best half marathon.

Next up, he will be saddling up for the Viking Challenge on Sunday 1 October 2023, a 65km trail bike ride challenge with some tough and muddy terrain on the offing if the weather does not improve!
