With the HSSP Architects team being in London to celebrate our success at the LABC Grand Finals Awards, we decided to make it a team outing and combine the awards celebrations with an architectural tour ‘field trip’ the following day as we are always eager to expand our knowledge of the built environment.

The team were asked for suggestions of areas and locations they would like to know more about, and we engaged Nick Edwards of London Architecture Tours to facilitate a tour of King’s Cross.

Nick’s engaging tour gave an insightful historical background of the area, the inspired masterplanning and how it was regenerated. The contrasting architectural styles were given depth, and we were shown how melding these attributes has created a vibrant mixed use development covering multiple hectares that has transformed the locality.

It showed the true essence of what can be achieved through visionary architects, developers willing to invest for longer term returns, and forward-thinking local authorities working together in harmony.

The 2.5 tour was informative and most enjoyable whilst being a source of inspiration for our own designs. We highly recommend Nick for your own architectural tour
