HSSP Architects are thrilled to welcome Joseph White to the team. Joseph comes to HSSP as a Part 2 having achieved his Master’s in Architecture with Distinction from De Montfort University five years after graduating with a first class honours degree. Keen to continue his studying, he is currently undertaking his Part 3 apprenticeship.
Having watched his grandad’s and parents’ building projects and renovations, and having climbed scaffolding from a young age, he knew by the time he was 6 that he wanted to be an “architetch” and work in “architetra”! As a child he loved drawing fantasy castles in sections and designing their interiors and has been fixated with the architectural sector ever since.
He excelled at university and knew he had found a career he was passionate about which was reflected in his winning of multiple awards throughout this time there including:
- RIBA Silver Medal Nominee
- AJ Prize Nomination for Design
- Foster and Partners Prize
- RIBA East Midlands Student Nomination
- Christopherson Award
- TABFAB Riga Creative Quarter Design Competition – runner up
- RIBA Bronze Medal Nominee
- LRSA Presidents Prize
He is technically minded and excels at the technical aspects of projects. He has a keen interest in designing for later living including extra care and retirement, with a draw to bespoke residential projects too.
He very quickly became part of the team; having worked here for only 4 days, he joined us for our Christmas party weekend away! He got stuck in with his catering group to produce a delectable lunch and dressed up as ‘Scrooge’ for our fancy dress Movies and TV themed evening!
Away from work, Joseph is daddy extraordinaire with a young son and a younger set of twins who keep him and his wife exceptionally busy – there is never a dull moment in their home – which he magically juggles with his ongoing studying.
The White’s love heading out for walks with their dog and spending lots of family time together and having fun.
