HSSP Architects are delighted to have achieved planning approval for a new progressive 70-bed dementia care home and 22 extra care apartments.
The care home has been designed with ‘small families’ living at the fore to reduce the overwhelming feelings that can occur for people with dementia. Each ‘family’ is made up of around 10 bedrooms that share a living and dining area, quiet snug and an external terrace to bring familiarity, which in turn reduces anxiety.
Stunningly designed as ‘linked pavilions’ and set in a beautiful parkland setting, Staveley Park provides a home from home living experience, with the care home and apartments complementing each other perfectly and coalescing as one caring community.
Safe free flow access to open-air terraces, outdoor spaces and balconies feature heavily throughout the design, thereby encouraging an increased connection with nature to bring beneficial elements to the health and wellbeing of residents, visitors and staff.
