We are delighted that a contemporary dwelling designed by HSSP Architects which took styling inspiration from its historical neighbours has been granted planning permission.
Space is always a premium for development in London, so this perfectly formed new home which our client will reside in, is a much needed addition to the housing sector.
The design is sensitive to the surrounding houses, their masses and forms and reinterprets their pitched roofs and bay windows into a modern striking language, whilst the buff brickwork emulates the local brickwork colouring.
Parts of the dwelling will be clad in dark grey zinc to allow the building to sit subtly within the surroundings and complement the adjacent properties. Sustainability was also at the forefront of the design, with Zinc being a fully recyclable material, which is also true of the aluminium windows and patio doors, and the timber front door.
Concealed gutters, modest window frames and flush entrances are stylish and personify the high quality that will be present throughout. Provision has been made for a wall hung bicycle store on the site to reflect the active travel options fitting for the location.
We very much look forward to seeing it becoming a built reality.
