The team at HSSP Architects have pooled their creativity once more to produce our offering for this years’ Christmas Tree Festival at St Mary’s Church, Melton Mowbray. With recycling and sustainability at the fore of everyone’s minds, “No trees were harmed in the making of this Christmas tree” has been fashioned from recycling cardboard boxes and industry magazines, with a few prints of our projects included too.
The studio became like Santa’s workshop with plenty of measuring, cutting and sticking going on to make the boxes and their wrapping. Origami was taken to a whole new level to fabricate the stunning decorative bows and the star that takes centre stage atop of the tree.
It’s a great team effort and we are very proud to be supporting Christmas Trees @ St Mary’s again this year. This annual extravaganza is a sight to behold. Almost 200 Christmas trees of different shapes and sizes, created by local charities, businesses, schools, organisations, and groups, fill the church and provide a wonderland of joy as one weaves through the tree decked route.
The opening night is a special evening on 1 December 2021, with the festival then running until 8 December 2021. We do recommend a visit to marvel at the entries and the imagination that has gone into creating them and to support this wonderful event.
