Twinlakes, the ever popular family theme park, farm and water park, approached HSSP with a view to developing a section of their 100 acre park site to accommodate a glamping site. This is to be part of their wider improvements that include cycle path links and new play areas.
It will be so exciting to be able to experience the thrills and spills of the theme park, and then be able to stay over in superb self-contained glamping pods. There will be 20 pods in total and a new amenities hub, along with picnic and grass play areas.
The pods have been designed bespoke for this site and are fabulous. They encompass everything one needs for a few nights away; a lounge, kitchenette, wet room, sleeping areas and a terrace. They are complemented with an amenities hub that houses the reception, security, shop, communal kitchenette and meeting space, and a secure bike store. It will be an idyllic car free zone, with parking limited to the main site car park.
As woodland glamping inspired the design of the site, timber or timber effect materials will naturally be used for the external façades of the pods and amenities hub to blend seamlessly with the landscape. A sedum roof has been incorporated to the amenities hub to further support biodiversity.
The site is well screened by mature trees and foliage which will be retained and enhanced with the addition of more planting and a new central green space. The clever positioning of the pods creates private spaces within the existing greenery.
We are absolutely delighted that Melton Borough Council have granted planning permission for the project. They have appreciated this will support Twinlakes and local businesses to flourish and have a positive impact on the local economy, whilst keeping the appearance of the countryside intact.
