Mark Geraghty, HSSP Architects’ walking champion, has decided to head to Peru in South America to take on the challenges of the Inca Trail over 7-10 November 2022.
It is the most amazing 26 miles/43 km of mountainous terrain, cloud forest and sub-tropical jungle which will certainly put him to the test with the changes in climate and altitude thrown in too. But, he will be feasting on the local sights of Inca paving stones, ruins and tunnels on his way to his final destination of the trek; Machu Picchu – the wonderfully mysterious ‘Lost City of the Incas’.
He has a long flight schedule ahead of him – 16½ hours in the air over three flights and stoppages in between – no wonder it takes a whole 24 to get there!
The HSSP team wish Mark the very best of luck. He is fundraising for Loros and Dementia Care, so if you would like to help these wonderful causes and donate, please head over to Mark’s Just Giving pages
The big question is, as he is in Peru, the home of one of the most famous and much loved bears in the whole world – will he get to meet Paddington Bear and be enticed to try one of his marmalade sandwiches????
