A slice of cake anyone? One of HSSP Architects’ clients, The Little Yellow Patisserie based in Old Dalby near Melton Mowbray, creates the most fabulous classic cakes, layer cakes, vegan cakes, gateaux, tarts, tray bakes and cheesecakes that make your mouth water just looking at them. They also create bespoke celebration and wedding cakes too as part of their repertoire.
With the business ever evolving and expanding, they are looking to move premises again, and we are delighted to have achieved planning consent for the latest unit at Old Dalby Enterprise Village which will be purpose built just for them as an artisan bakery.
A large kitchen with copious amounts of storage and ovens will be the heart of the building and where the magic begins. This will be supported by fridge and freezer storage, a dry store, hand washing facilities and staff welfare facilities.
A mezzanine, accessible from a lift or stairs, will create an upstairs space that offers views of the kitchen, and houses a store, office, staff room with kitchenette, and cake decorating studio where cake dreams become a delectable reality.
This new building and the array of facilities will streamline the whole cake making process from delivery of goods to the finished items, and make it an even more enjoyable vocation for the gifted team.
Outside will benefit from landscaping and low level planting, with three parking spaces and a secure covered bike store.
Naturally, we are looking forward to seeing this project come to fruition, and the sweet toothed amongst us cannot wait to have a company site visit once it’s completed to sample their delicious creations!
