Associate and Chartered Architect, Samantha Griffiths, of HSSP Architects, has been announced the winner of ‘Construction Specialist of the Year’ at the prestigious LABC Building Excellence Awards Grand Finals in London and we could not be more thrilled.

Friday 27 January 2023 saw the ever-entertaining Stephen K Amos hosting the splendid black-tie event at the Westminster Park Plaza Hotel, which was attended by over 850 fellow construction industry contemporaries.

Samantha saw off the competition in 2022 by winning the regional stage of the awards and securing her place in the national finals.

Since graduating as a Part 1 in 2000 and qualifying as an architect in 2014, she has juggled being an emotional carer, becoming a full time mummy, university release, studying, and solo raising her daughter to become the architect and associate she is today through sheer determination.

She attained a merit upon qualifying, along with assessors compliments, as it was clearly evident through practical working and experience she had much more understanding of how the real world of architecture works.

Her tenacity and ability to overcome obstacles and achieve results sets examples of perseverance to the next generation and reaffirms that no one should be deterred by the hurdles life throws at you.
